Technology Engineer

Responsibilities :

- To provide Technical support to the organisation to improve product Quality, reduce cost, reduce waste; to provide technical assistance to the organisation to introduce and produce new products within standards.
- Obtain data to set up component, material, compound, process (including cure) release systems.
- Audit material, compound, component, equipment and machine operation, and inspection operations to ensure specification compliance.
- Problems solve to improve efficiency, waste and cost in area of products, compounds, process, machinery and systems. Develop and modify specifications and procedures to effect. Follow-up as required.
- Initiate specifications and supervise production of new compounds, components, products to meet company and legal requirements.
- Provide charts and reports as necessary for waste, quality, compound uniformity, extruder uniformity, projects and others.
- Problems solve in areas of product performance at banbury, extruder, stockprep and curing in particular.
- Effectively communicate with manufacturing, other plants, Technical Centers.
Undertake capability studies as needed. Participate in problem solving
- Make decisions on dispositions and product standards on materials, components, processes and tires.
- Provide technical training as required.

Requirements :

- Degree in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry or Analytical Science preferred and an advantage.
- Minimum equivalent to GCE. Further qualifications encouraged.
- Proven ability to work to high technical standards in a manufacturing environment, with minimal supervision, for a minimum 5 years.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safe Office working practices.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safe Laboratory working practices.
- Knowledge of and adherence to safe Manufacturing working practices.
