Working in a team environment, the SAM Specialist is responsible for engaging and assisting customers in understanding and controlling their software licensing costs, avoiding legal pitfalls related to licensing by leveraging industry best practices while expanding SoftwareONE’s licensing opportunities and building more-profitable, long term relationships with our customers.

• Strong in project management and project leadership
• Skills in business process analysis
• Analytical skills
Functional /Technical Competence:
• Licensing knowledge and product use rights for MS, Oracle, Symantec, Adobe, etc.
• Copyright knowledge for software licensing
• Software Asset Management knowledge and experience
• SAM Accreditation
• Technology basic skills regarding system platforms (MS & Oracle), client & server and midrange environment
• Providing training to key and end users
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Consulting regarding customers SAM project needs
• Business process analysis, create and implement business processes, optimize business processes
• Direct customer contact; working at customer location
• Selling SAM projects
• Development of our SAM services and strategy
• Executing SAM projects, rollout and transfer of a running system to the customer
• Delvelopment functional concepts
• Create documentation of operational concepts, workflows, etc.
• Analyze customer license contracts
• Investigation and clarification with the software publishers
• Internal and external workshop leadership
• External technical and project coordination with customers and SAM tool providers
• SAM project leadership
• Project customization
• User training
• Project budget responsibility
• Analysis market for SAM tool providers
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Bachelors Degree from four year college or university preferred
• 3-5 years professional sales experience in high-tech or service-related industry with preferred successful software sales / software licensing experience
• Proven track record of consistently exceeding corporate objectives and quotas
• Highly motivated and results oriented
• Strong presentation, communication, organization, multitasking, and time management skills
• Solid problem solving and consultative skills required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team sales environment with minimum supervision
